Really excellent bar with a wide selection of whiskeys! Amazing and upscale cocktail menu with some really unique drinks—I particularly loved the Sotoku that I tried! The atmosphere is intimate and minimal, dark and cozy and perfect for catching up with friends or a date. I highly recommend stopping by for a drink if you're in the area, especially before or after your dinner at Sanjusan or Kado no Mise!
Fantastic atmosphere, good drink selection, relaxing music, and gorgeous bar. This is definitely worth a stop and the bar seating only has room for about 8-10 (but there are a few additional bar tables in the same space!) so it ends up feeling very intimate and low key. I don’t know enough about Japanese Whiskey or Sake but everything we drank was lovely.
Great Japanese bar with a lovely and attentive bartender. Omotenashi at it’s best. I had a great evening here. Negroni and Collins cocktail we’re perfectly balanced.
Stopped by for two drinks after dining at Kado no Mise. The dimly lit bar has minimal decor but that matters little. I ordered the old fashioned to start which intriguingly has fig in it. First of all, the cocktail is beautiful. The ice stamp that is used gives it a signature feel. I truly enjoyed this drink. The second drink I had featured cognac which is not a liquor I often consume but I was intrigued by the koji. The ice stamp used in this cocktail was also beautiful.
Warm intimate space with incredible and unique cocktails. I was excited to actually enjoy whiskey, and they did not disappoint. I've never had anything like these cocktails before. We tried the Sotoku, Nagano, and the Kado Old Fashioned. All of them were perfectly crafted and a pleasure to taste. I look forward to returning to try more of their amazing offerings!
this is an amazing place to get a drink after a good meal, like what we did. Amazing craftsmanship from the bartenders, cutting and shaping ice by hand and creating the drinks. great view and ambience, good music, good times. will always be back whenever i am in Minneapolis
One of (if not The) best cocktail bars in the city. Very much reminds me of the small bars of Tokyo as there is only a couple tables. The drinks are on the higher end of what you’ll find in the city but they are absolutely worth it. The A5 Manhattan is the best cocktail you can get in the Twin Cities.
Probably the best Manhattan I’ve had. Love all the Japanese whisky options.
